Here's a chance to discuss something!
Does anyone have any movies that are coming out soon that they're really excited about...?
- Alice in Wonderland
- Coraline
- Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs
are all currently top of my list, I'm slightly concerned that they all seem to be aimed at kids though!
I'm in my early 20s - is there anything else I should be excited about? _________________ -- The Internet: All the piracy, none of the scurvy. |

I am kind of interested in seeing Public Enemies, but the reviews so far have been mixed.
Not sure what to make of the new Alice. When I read the originals John Tenniel's illustrations captured the 'dream world' feeling perfectly. The pictures of Burton's remake look a little over the top to me, which is one of my main criticisms of his Charlie and the Chocolate Factory remake. But I'm reserving my judgement until it's actually released. |

I'm looking forward to Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs; it's one of the few non-Pixar CG films that hasn't made me cringe yet. Seems like an interesting premise and I like the visual style of the characters.
The only other film I'm really looking forward to is Pixar's Up. I know nothing about it but Pixar has a fantastic track record (despite their Disney connection...) ;P
District 9 might be interesting too, a sci-fi thriller produced by Peter Jackson.
The new Alice In Wonderland looks a little too overboard for me. I'm getting a little sick of the Tim Burton/Johnny Depp combo. I'm also sick of Helena Bonham Carter in general, she seems to play a similar role in every single film. _________________ Adam

I saw it last night. Don't bother, its too long and the plot is too weak - its three-hours of nothing really. |

Yes, this one definitely looks interesting - I'm heading to see this later next week when it opens.
Gamer also looks like it might be a good mindless action flick.
How about the remake of The Karate Kid (cunningly disguised with a subtle name change to Kung Fu Kid)?
And surely this one will be a hit... I mean, everyone loved Day After Tomorrow, right? Right?!
OK, enough with the silliness... Can't wait for Transformers 3!
Cheers,
athe. _________________ athe |

| Inglourious Basterds might also be worth catching too. |

I'd have to agree unfortunately.

Athe, I know you're being sarcastic, but I'm sure there are people that would throw sharp objects at you for saying that...

I've just found out Coraline can be seen in 3D!! I've never been to a 3D movie... are they worth it??
My Sisters Keeper looks a bit dramatic. I've heard the book is good, has anyone heard anything about the movie? _________________ -- The Internet: All the piracy, none of the scurvy. |

Looks good.
I saw Coraline with a friend the other night, it was lovely!
Kinda creepy with the eyes/buttons in parts, and there's a few scenes where I'm reminded of someone I know... Does this look familiar to anyone else? I was thinking Sandra Bullock, but there's someone else and I can't place it...
Anyone seen Ponyo?

Adam- I've just realised you have no dancing emoticons! _________________ -- The Internet: All the piracy, none of the scurvy. |

Nope, my anger is entirely directed at two miscreants (who shall remain nameless) who continually suggested that we go see this movie in Japan.

Haha.. I love it how things "float" around the interwebs.
I think I might reserve Ponyo for the cinemas though... mind you if they charge me $20 again like they did with Coraline I might have to pull out the

Do you think you'd be less... angst-y if you'd seen it? Just a thought.. _________________ -- The Internet: All the piracy, none of the scurvy. |
